Our plant-based granules provide you with the foundation to create your own personalized shampoo, conditioner, and styler, tailored to your specific hair needs. With a few simple steps, you'll be able to create your own products in the comfort of your home by adding the most important ingredient. Water. Here's how to get started:
Shampoo
1. In a jar, mix packet of salonsolids shampoo granules with 9 oz of hot water. Alternatively, your choice of tea. Stir until the granules have fully dissolved.
2. Pour the mixture into a reusable bottle or you can store granules in jar.
3. To use, wet hair thoroughly, then apply the shampoo to your scalp, add a bit more water to activate lather and massage in circular motions where cleansing is needed. Approximately 1/2 tsp emulsified with water in hands per use when mixing directly in hands. Adding more water to head in shower will help to distribute natural lather.
4. Optional: Use scalp massager. Rinse with warm water. Alternatively, you can make a clarifying shampoo by adding sodium bicarbonate to powder and make creamy paste directly in your hand for wash.Can also be added to increase lather.
Conditioner
1. In a jar, mix packet of salonsolids conditioner granules with 9 oz of hot water. Alternatively, your choice of tea. Stir until the granules have fully dissolved.
2. Add 1-3 tsp of your preferred oil (such as avocado for dry/coarse hair, broccoli seed for fine hair, or jojoba for normal hair). Stir to combine.
3. Pour the mixture into a reusable bottle or you can store granules in jar.
4. To use, before shampooing, apply the conditioner to the length of your hair, avoiding the roots to act as protector to more porous ends. Leave on for 2-3 minutes, then rinse with cool water. Alternatively, conditioner can be used as co-wash, after shampooing, or as a leave-in. Approximately 1/2 tsp emulsified with water in hands per use when mixing directly in hands.
Styler
1. In a jar, mix packet of salonsolids styler granules with 9 oz of hot water. Alternatively, your choice of tea. Stir until the granules have fully dissolved.
2. Add 1-3 tsp of your preferred oil (such as grapeseed or sunflower oil for added moisture and heat protection). Jojoba for weightless moisture and acts as sealant. Honey, molasses, or sugar can be added for more hold. Stir to combine.
3. Pour the mixture into a reusable bottle or you can store granules in jar.
4. To use, wet hands and emulsify styler for even distribution to damp hair. Styler can be used for light hold and frizz control on dry hair also. Approximately 1/4 tsp emulsified with water in hands per use when mixing directly in hands. Adding more water will help distribute styler through hair. Salonsolids recommends using your favorite hydrosol for refreshing.
