Are Synthetic Retinols Blocking Your "Vitamin D"?

Salonsolids would like to bring light to the toxicity of RETINOLS, which are a synthetic form of "Vitamin A", and why we recommend avoiding them.

I think back to my teenage years when they were recommended for acne(Retin A) and they are STILL the most popular topical prescribed for it along with being the most prescribed and recommended for topical anti-aging. It's also found in scalp care promoted for encouraging cell turnover.

While it may be effective at cell turnover there are SO many side effects that are not healthy at all. Especially long term like so many of these synthetic chemicals.

Here's some reasons why Retinols("Vitamin A") would be best avoided.

~The liver stores "Vitamin A" (retinol) but has difficulty "detoxing" it. Over time, these stores build up and cause subclinical poisoning.
~"Vitamin A" as a metabolic poison that damages the liver and leads to issues like autoimmune diseases, skin problems (ironically, the ones people use retinol to treat), and hair loss.
~"Vitamin A" and "Vitamin D" compete for the same receptors in the body. Which leads to chronic "Vitamin D" deficiency.

An alternative that's effective without the side effects? Bakuchiol Oil.

Bakuchiol oil does not contain high levels of "Vitamin A" (retinoids). While often marketed as a "natural retinol alternative" due to its similar, gentler effects on collagen and cell turnover, bakuchiol is structurally different from Vitamin A. It acts on the same skin receptors WITHOUT the irritation. Now in salonsolids shampoo concentrates.
